Acme Packet – APKT IPO Online Stock Trading

The 2nd IPO traded today was Acme Pocket – AKPT. I don’t really care for the stock symbol chosen, but they didn’t consult me I executed one trade in APKT that made for a happy Friday the 13th.

The IPO Acme Packet opened strong, and moved up quickly. I will play these moves periodically with the use of tight stops for initial entry. I was in conservative mode today though. AKPT actually triggered a BL2 which I did not take. Instead, I chose to give it some room, and see how the trading patterns evolved. The stock traded up to 15 a number of times, shown on the chart. I set a buy stop at 15 when the stock was in the 14.80′s. You can see that AKPT made a nice end of day run. AKPT and EHTH will be on my watch list now.
